The Camel Trail

The Camel Trail winds its way through some of the region's most breathtaking landscapes along a disused railway line. Stretching from Padstow on the north coast, this popular cycling and walking trail follows the scenic Camel Estuary, passing through the towns of Wadebridge and Bodmin before reaching Wenfordbridge.

Along this 18-mile route, mostly level and traffic-free, you will encounter a diverse range of landscapes, from lush woodlands and riverside paths to open moorlands and tranquil creeks. The trail also offers several delightful stops along the way, including the bustling market town of Wadebridge, known for its quaint shops and cafes, and the historic Bodmin Parkway with its striking viaduct. Cyclists and hikers can pause to enjoy refreshments at charming riverside cafes or simply soak in the stunning vistas of the Camel Estuary and the surrounding countryside.

The trail is suitable for walkers, cyclists, horse-riders and wheel-chair users and falls into three main sections:

• Padstow to Wadebridge - 5.5 Miles (8.8Km)
• Wadebridge to Bodmin (Boscarne) - 5.75 Miles (9.25Km)
• Bodmin to Wenfordbridge - 6.25 Miles (10.1 Km)

Bike Hire is available at the major towns, and there are a range of cafes and refreshments along the way so that you can take your time and enjoy the ride.
